Health Data Governance Summit Part 2

Written by World Health Organization

30th Sep 2021 - 30th Sep 2021

The first summit on 30 June brought together WHO, Member States, partners and the general public to build on this momentum for greater international collaboration on data governance. This resulted in a draft summit statement which was made available for public comment.

The second summit will further advance the dialogue with a focus on three technical tracks:
1. Research data sharing
2. Public health and disease surveillance
3. Data sharing policies: Legal and ethical considerations

In addition, it will present the final summit statement and outline key learnings and next steps to effectively use data to deliver on WHO’s “triple billion” targets and the health related Sustainable Development Goals.
