HDC–UNAIDS Webinar on Advancing Health Data Governance Successfully Concludes

6 November 2025

The Health Data Collaborative (HDC), in partnership with UNAIDS, successfully concluded its global webinar titled “Advancing Health Data Governance from Policy to Practice – for HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)”. The session brought together participants from multiple regions to discuss practical approaches for strengthening data governance to better support HIV and SRHR programmes.

The webinar featured country spotlights from Kenya, Tanzania, and Zambia, each sharing a key governance action, a challenge encountered, and lessons learned in translating policy commitments into operational practice. These insights highlighted both the progress being made and the ongoing barriers countries face in establishing trusted, ethical, and effective health data governance systems.

The session concluded with a synthesis of key takeaways and next steps, reaffirming the need for continued collaboration across governments, partners, and communities to strengthen governance frameworks that safeguard privacy, promote responsible data use, and improve decision-making for HIV and SRHR services.

HDC and UNAIDS expressed their appreciation to all speakers and participants and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting countries as they move from policy to practice in health data governance.
